Twitter switches from TinyURL to Bit..Ly

I just spotted this morning, that Twitter is now using Bit.Ly as it's URL shortner, rather than TinyUrl.com, I wonder does the extra 5 letters make all the difference, or is there some other reason?

For those interested, ly is Lybia. which runs off the following name servers:

ly nameserver = ns-ly.ripe.net
ly nameserver = auth02.ns.uu.net
ly nameserver = dns1.lttnet.net
ly nameserver = phloem.uoregon.edu
ly nameserver = dns.lttnet.net

auth02.ns.uu.net internet address = 198.6.1.82
dns1.lttnet.net internet address = 62.68.42.9
phloem.uoregon.edu internet address = 128.223.32.35
dns.lttnet.net internet address = 62.240.36.9
